Hello! My name is Sofie Michalak, I am originally from the U.S. and have been teaching English in Austria since 2019.

I have a B.A. in German and Environmental Studies from Skidmore College in New York, as well as a B.A. in Manual and Material Culture from the New Design University in St. Pölten.

I worked as a U.S. Teaching Assistant through Fulbright Austria from 2019 to 2021, teaching English to hundreds of secondary school students in Perg and Innsbruck.

In 2021, I became certified in TEFL and TESOL from Global Learning Training (Teaching English as a Foreign Language and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). For the past 5 summers, I have also helped high school students in New Jersey draft and write their college essays with an organization called MAAC (Mindful Awareness Academy for Children).

Since 2022, I have been working as a private English tutor to children and adults. In my free time, I love doing art, baking, and playing beach volleyball 🙂
